Getting into medicine, and getting through it
Tools and honest advice, free.
The interview
I’ve sat on medical school interview panels for five years and tutor medical students at the University of Oxford. Applicants ask me about the interview more than anything else, so I wrote it down.
I can’t give you real interview questions, and I’d be wary of anyone who says they can. Every scenario in the guide is one I’ve written for it, or one a medical school has published about itself. Questions change from year to year. What’s being marked doesn’t.
I interview applicants myself, so I don’t do paid coaching or read personal statements. Everything I’d tell you is in the guide.
What they are actually marking
The apps
WardRun, Medacted and Resus One are tools for medical students and junior doctors. They take a few minutes a day, and everyone gets the same questions, so scores mean something. More on WardRun and how I built it.
Online
I post about medicine, the NHS and what the job is like on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube. If you have a question, the comments are the best place. I read them.

WardRun
One shift a day, from a question bank mapped to the UK Medical Licensing Assessment.

Resus One
A daily set of acute decisions, with the guideline behind each one.
